The State and Territory #ActiveAchievers winners will be recognised and the National #ActiveAchievers Award winner will be announced at the Awards Dinner on Friday 14 October.
Below are the final State and Territory 2016 Finalists!
ACT WinnersSusie Cole & Kelly West
Susie, Kelly’s trainer, has helped her overcome physical and emotional hurdles. Plagued with injury Susie always gives Kelly a safe modified and fun workout. They always inspire each other to do better, and always share a laugh to make each other feel like they are capable of anything.
QLD WinnersJoy McClymont & Wendy Hick
Wendy describes her trainer Joy as inspirational and positive. Wendy has muscle related issues, so Joy’s outreach work to rural QLD is critical to Wendy.
Wendy’s range of motion has never been as good as it is now, which allows her to do things she never thought she would again.
Joy also supports Wendy remotely with podcasts, teleconferences and printed materials.
Joy has been an inspirational and empowering during a tough time of drought, giving Wendy and other clients an outlet for hope through exercise.
SA WinnersKrystal Martin-Hart & Mikaela Parker
Krystal is a great motivator for Mikaela who was overweight, with mental health issues.
Before training with Krystal Mikaela lacked confidence and had mental health issues.
She has now lost 20kgs and has developed self-belief through persistence and regular exercise.
TAS WinnersVicki Allan & Angela Vincent
Vicki is a long-time community based trainer who developed the Sit and Be Fit chair exercise program.
She has had an impact on Angela’s health, especially helping her become more mobile for daily tasks like reaching her own shoelaces. She’s passionate and inspires all of her clients.
VIC WinnersJim O'Donnell & Abby Lee
Jim, Abby’s trainer, gave Abby the tools to achieve her goals.
He keeps her on track through consistent follow up support.
Since training with Jim, Abby has lost 14kg. He’s helped her regain her confidence and her feeling of self-worth.
WA WinnersSimone Jones & Eva Maiolo
Simone is Eva’s trainer. Eva went from 5km runs to having achieved two 42 km marathons.
Simone also volunteers her time to keep kids and teenagers active too. Her commitment to helping others achieve their goals every day gives Eva the inspiration keep going.
NSW WinnersNathan Hall & Barry Bidwell
Nathan’s 76 years old and has cardiovascular disease. His trainer creates an encouraging environment which makes him feel comfortable and confident.
Nathan works closely with Barry’s GP, for his effective aerobic and resistance exercise program. Barry has formed lots of friendships from his gym visits – which have continued to outside the gym too.
